Dr. George C. Stege III
George C. Stege III, M.D. is Board Certified by the American Academy
of Family Practice, the American Board of
Bariatric Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He is a member of the Jefferson County Medical
Association, Kentucky Medical Society, American Medical Association,
Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. He
graduated Cum Laude from Princeton University, received his MD and a masters degree from the
University of Louisville School of Medicine, and was chief resident at the University of Louisville School of Medicine Family Practice Deparment.
He was a National Merit Scholar in high school.
He participates in the
training of medical students and residents of the University of Louisville
School of Medicine.

Lisa Carden Stege
Lisa has been a valuable member of the Hurstbourne Family Care team for
over twenty years. She is a native of Louisville
and a graduate of Health Careers Institute, has studied at Harvard University, and has masters and
doctorate degrees. Lisa is the Practice Manager at HFC as well as our lab
manager who keeps all things running smoothly on a daily basis. She has a
genuine concern for all of her patients and gives one (or more) of the best

She is now the only Sjogren's Ambassador in the state of Kentucky, and her mission is to educate doctors about this underdiagnosed condition.
Her story was be published in the Greater Louisville Medical Society magazine.
She received the 2012 Sjogren's Ambassador Of The Year Award for outstanding work.
Her health has forced her to retire. She misses her patients.
She appeared on Wave Country with Dawn Gee on WAVE 3 TV on Father's Day Sunday June 17th 2012 at 10:30 AM to discuss her experience with Sjogren's Syndrome.
Nancy Wilding APRN
Nancy joins our practice as an APRN, an experienced family nurse practitioner. She has three years of experience in family practice and urgent care. She has ten years of experience in the emergency room setting and as a diagnostic and interventional cath lab nurse. She has been a clinical instructor in the critical care and telemetry units.
Nancy earned her BSN degree in nursing in 1998 and her MSN degree with the focus of family nurse practitioner in 2009 from Bellarmine University.
Nancy hails from Louisville, and we welcome her to LCWL/Hurstbourne Family Care as a valuable addition to our growing practice.
Shannon Bretz APRN
Shannon Bretz holds credentials as a certified adult nurse practitioner and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
She is a highly skilled career professional with more than six years experience in the hospital setting and three years of experience in the office setting, established in primary care, obstetrics, and women's health including assessment and planning, counseling, education regarding medications and treatment, lab work, documentation with care plan for diagnosis and administration of treatment procedures.
She has worked as a clinical instructor at Bellarmine University, nurse practitioner for Women First of Louisville, and labor and delivery nurse at Baptist Hospital East.
She holds Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisville and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Kentucky.
RHONDA A. HARRISON, APRN/FAMILY
Rhonda is the newest addition to our staff. She comes to us as a skilled career professional with more than 20 years of practical experience in retail healthcare, hospitals,
home health, urgent care, emergency room, and correctional facilities as well as classroom and clinical teaching experience.
She is able to perform minor surgical procedures in the office such as suturing, incision and drainage of abscesses, wart and skin tage removals.
She has an honorable military discharge where she served as a pharmacy technician. She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with MSN and BSN degrees.
She has worked for Norton Healthcare, Jewish Hospital, and Baptist Healthcare.
Her certifications include the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and she is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practioners and Midwives Active Member.
LORI P. ABNEY, APRN
Lori is a graduate of Spalding University where she received her Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Bellarmine University. She has membership in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Her experience includes assessment and treatment of premature babies in the University of Louisville Neonatal Follow-up Program, neurosurgery nurse clinician at Norton Neuroscience Institute, on call nursing supervisor for Hosparus, and Norton Healthcare-Kosair Childrens Hospital.
ANGELA D. MULLINS, APRN
Ange received her Masters of Science in Nursing, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Family Certified and Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisville. She is a member of Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Included among her honors and awards are scholarship recipient from Kentucky Board of Nursing, Deanís List at University of Louisville all semesters, and recipient of Better Care Award from both Norton Suburban Hospital and Norton Southwest Hospital. Her professional experience includes work at General Electric, University of Louisville Advanced Neurosurgery, and Kentuckiana Emergency Physicians.
KATHRYN FRANCESCON, APRN
Katie received her Masters of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Spalding University. She is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has certification in oncology and memberships in the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners/Midwifes, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Oncology Nursing Society, and Kentucky Nurses Association. Her professional experience includes faculty member of Jefferson Community College, oncology/hematology nurse practitioner at Graves-Gilbert Clinic in Bowling Green, Ky, family nurse practitioner at The Little Clinic and charge nurse at the University of Louisville Hospital.
TRICIA FLAKE, DNP, APRN
Tricia is a graduate of Bellarmine University, Summa Cum Laude, graduating first in her class and winner of the 2009 Merit award scholarship with Masters Degree in Nursing. She received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from McKendree University, Magna Cum Laude with nursing honors, and her Associate Degree in Nursing from St. Catherine College, ranking first in her class. She has gone on to complete the doctoral program of study. Her experience includes developing a weight loss and nutrition program, beginning a pediatric program at a rural health clinic and managing all aspects of patient care.
LAUREN JOHNSON, APRN
We are happy to announce our newest APRN to the practice of Hurstbourne Family Care and
Louisville Center for Weight Loss. She brings to us her experience having worked in The Little
Clinic and Norton Immediate Care Centers as Nurse Practitioner.
She obtained her BSN from the University of Kentucky and her Master of Science in Nursing from the
University of Louisville. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and
Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives.
Her experience includes work at Kosair Children's Hospital in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
We are happy to welcome her to our team.
Amber Stege McClease
Amber started as an intern, and now is the office manager at Hurstbourne
Family Care. In addition to helping out as needed with the front office and
lab, she is the Endermologie and Micro-dermabrasion Technician at
Hurstbourne Family Care. She has her master's license as a hairdresser
cosmetologist. She has two children Dayton and Bryce.
Her health has forced her to retire.
Ann Carden Champion
Ann Champion comes to Hurstbourne Family Care after retiring from 35 years
of distinguished service at the Norton
Hospital as a medical
transcriptionist. Before her retirement she was a certified medical
transcriptionist and a member of the local, state and national American
Association of Medical Transcriptionists. She knows many of the doctors in Louisville. She brings
her bright cheerful disposition to her job as our Patient Care Facilitator.
She is affectionately know as our "Auntie Ann". She is a native
of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She attended the Elizabethtown city schools, and Bethel College.
With the diversity within our community, we were able to find a medical assistant who speaks five languages. He brings a sound knowledge of technical support as well.
He can be found in our lab performing routine tests and any other clerical duties he is called to do.
He has been an interpreter and translator for Goodwill Industries and Service, Education, Employment, and Communications.
He has an associate of science degree in computer information technology from Sullivan University and a medical assistant degree with phlebotomy certification from Daymar College.
Jessica came to us as a student at Spencerian College, working on a medical administrative assistant diploma. She has been trained in patient registration, insurance billing, and work processing. She has knowledge of basic medical law and ethics related to the field, including HIPPA compliance. She is the mother of two sons.
BRANDI R. ALLEN
Brandi is a graduate of Atherton High School. She comes to us by way of the University of Louisville where she worked in a supervisory position, with a background in bookkeeping.
She is anxious to learn all aspects of our office practice and we are glad to have her join us.
Silvia is certified in CPR, HIPPA, CLIA, and received her CMA from the Medical Institute of Kentucky. She is from Louisville, attending the public schools, North Bullit High School, and graduating from Fairdale TAPP. She is bilingual, speaks Spanish and is a valuable asset to our practice. She and her husband are proud parents of a son.
SHELBIE MCINTYRE, CMA
Shelbie comes from a family of medical assistants and we welcome her as out newest addition to the family of Hurstbourne Family Care and Louisville Center for Weight Loss . She comes to us with a passion to work in the medical field and is eager to learn. She is a graduate of Seneca High School. She has a background in retail.
